Description
German 17th Infantry Division earthenware tile. Painted earthenware. Complete regimental badge. A chip on the lower left corner. Made by Henriot Quimper. Dimensions 10 x 10 cm. Created in October 1935, the division took part in the invasion of Poland in September 1939, the western campaign in May-June 1940 and the offensive against the USSR from the summer of 1941. After an interlude in France between May 1942 and March 1943, it returned to the eastern front where it fought until the end of the war. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. Faience tile of the German 17th Infantry Division. Painted faience construction. Complete regimental insignia. One chip to the lower left corner. Manufactured by Henriot Quimper. Dimensions 10 x 10 cm.
