Description
Terracotta bust of Marshal Pétain. This terracotta bust is signed François Cogné on the left side, and a small brass plate on the base indicates the committee of the 27th section of Vichy military medallists on 4 January 1942 to its president René Bourdin. On the back of the bust are François Cogné stamps with the censorship visa OA 219, the marking Vuitton and Vuitton éditeur number 239 établissement Fargette à Cusset Initiale R.M, a dedication on the back of the Maréchal indicates Jacqueline Beniart 1er 1991 M. Bourdin souvenir. Dimensions height 40cm. Terracotta bust of Marshal Pétain signed François Cogné on the left side. A small brass plaque on the base reads "To its President René Bourdin, Committee of the 27th Section of Military Medalists, Vichy, 4 January 1942." Reverse shows François Cogné stamps, censorship visa OA 219, and markings "Vuitton et Vuitton éditeur No. 239, Fargette establishment in Cusset."
