Officer's cross of the Crown of Italy with diplomas awarded to Léon Lachaze, French. The gold cross pattée is covered in white enamel. The arms of the cross are linked by four Savoy knot love lakes in braided gold wire. In the centre of the cross, on the obverse, is a gold medallion enamelled blue, featuring the crown of the King of the Lombards. The gold medallion on the reverse features a black-enamelled eagle with the enamelled Savoy cross in its mandorla, heraldic symbols taken from the great arms of the sovereigns of the House of Savoy. The ribbon is tierced with a white stripe between two red stripes, with a rosette. Miniature present. Beautiful complete box from the manufacturer DCO Cravanzola ROMA. Buttonhole and miniature of the same decoration also present. A handwritten letter from the Ministero degli affari esteri, dated 3 March 1902, awarding this decoration in the grade of officer to Enrico Leone Lachaze, President of the Civil Court of Dax.
