1884 16th artillery kepi. This 1884 type kepi was made by a master tailor in dark blue cloth, with scarlet piping and the number sewn in madder-coloured cloth. The 16th artillery regiment was stationed at Clermont Ferrand. Thick leather visor, gold false chinstrap no longer held in place by a single artillery button. Fawn leather headband partially untucked, black cotton lining. Kepi model 1884 of the 16th Artillery Regiment. Tailor-made kepi in dark blue cloth with scarlet piping and regimental number in garance cloth. The 16th Artillery Regiment was stationed in Clermont-Ferrand. Thick leather visor, gilt false chinstrap retained by a single artillery button. Light brown leather sweatband partly unstitched, fine black cotton lining.
