Medical officer's kepi. Made of madder-coloured cloth, crimson velvet headband. Sub-commander's ranks woven flat. Gold-plated chinstrap held in place by a health service button and a colonial infantry button. Leather visor with leather band bearing the initials E.C., tan leather headband bearing the markings of the tailor Ruettard in Lyon, lined in fine blue cotton. Some of the stitching on the ranks has given way. Commanding medical officer's kepi. Made of garance cloth with crimson velvet band. Field-grade rank in flat weave. Gilt false chinstrap secured by one medical service button and one colonial infantry button. Leather visor with trim bearing the initials E.C. Light brown leather sweatband stamped by tailor Ruettard in Lyon, fine blue cotton lining. Some stitching of the rank has come loose.
