Shako 1872 colonial infantry. Cardboard shako covered with fine black cloth, scarlet piping. Patent leather bourdalou and black leather cap. Two aerators in original paint. Note a small repair to the left side with a later piece of cloth of approximately 2cm. Brass colonial infantry crest topped by a tricolour metal roundel, colonial infantry button held in place by a two-strand red braid, also holding a daffodil pompom. Officer-style headdress, gilded tan headband, black leather visor with leather trim. At the back of the headdress is an embossed coat of arms of the tailor Liothier in Troyes. Colonial infantry shako 1872 pattern. Cardboard body covered in fine black cloth with scarlet piping. Black lacquered leather bourdalou band and black leather crown. Two ventilators retaining original paint. Brass colonial infantry insignia surmounted by a metallic tricolour cockade. Colonial infantry button secured by a two-strand red braid also retaining a jonquil pompon. Officer-type liner with buff leather sweatband gilt stamped. Black leather visor with leather edging.
