4th REI jacket. Officer's jacket from 1929, made of fine unbleached cotton canvas. Officer-style collar tabs in black cloth with number 4 and Legion grenade embroidered in cannetille, for the 4th Foreign Infantry Regiment. Jacket closes with nine gold buttons stamped Légion Etrangère. Two breast pockets with flaps, fabric straps at each end of the sleeves to accommodate removable ranks, collar fastened with two hooks.
