1st RIC kepi. Made of dark blue woollen cloth, with scarlet piping and a cannetille embroidered number on a small piece of cloth. Gold-plated chinstrap held in place by two colonial infantry buttons. Patent leather visor lined with green morocco. One quarter of the black leather headband is untrimmed, and the red satin lining is marked Madame Scuillot, tailor, rue de la paix, Cherbourg. Kepi of the 1st Colonial Infantry Regiment. Tailored in dark blue wool cloth with scarlet piping and bullion embroidered numeral mounted on a small cloth backing. Gilt false chinstrap secured by two colonial infantry buttons. Patent leather visor lined in green morocco leather. Black leather sweatband detached over one quarter of its circumference.
