Soft leather visor with a few cracks. Fawn leather headband, black cotton lining marked Hubert de Vautier et Fils, Marseille and Paris. The top of the headdress is lined with stiffened cardboard. Colonial infantryman's kepi. Tailored in dark blue wool cloth with faded scarlet piping and scarlet cotton embroidered anchor. Gilt false chinstrap secured by two colonial infantry buttons.
