Description
Porpoise kepi. Made of dark blue woollen cloth, faded scarlet piping, anchor embroidered with scarlet cotton thread. Gold-plated chinstrap held in place by two colonial infantry buttons. Soft leather visor with a few cracks. Fawn leather headband, black cotton lining marked Hubert de Vautier et Fils, Marseille and Paris. The top of the headdress is lined with stiffened cardboard. Colonial infantryman's kepi. Tailored in dark blue wool cloth with faded scarlet piping and scarlet cotton embroidered anchor. Gilt false chinstrap secured by two colonial infantry buttons. Soft leather visor showing several cracks. Tan leather sweatband. Black cotton lining bearing the mark of Hubert de Vautier et Fils Marseille and Paris. Crown internally reinforced with stiffened cardboard.
