Description
Monosac 1916 modified 1925. Model 1916 cavalry monosac, with its leather-reinforced rosary with two eyelets. The two small straps attached to the tightening buckles have been removed from the leather lower part. This bag was modified in 1925 by the addition of leather shoulder straps to enable the coat to be attached when on foot. The straps are in their original size, with an adjustment hook on the left and a second hook on the right in twisted iron. A small side strap is still present. Soldier's name and service number inscribed under the flap. Model 1916 monosac modified in 1925. Cavalry monosac Model 1916 retaining its leather reinforced fastening strap with two eyelets. Lower leather section altered with removal of the two small straps once attached to the tightening buckles. Modified in 1925 by the addition of leather shoulder straps allowing attachment of the greatcoat in mounted configuration. Straps remain at original length. One adjustment hook at left and a second twisted iron hook at right still present. Small lateral strap retained. Soldier's name and service number written beneath the flap.
