MkII parachutist helmet shell. Steel bomb, stainless steel rim. Beautiful original factory khaki paintwork, later white paint stains on the outside and throughout the bottom of the bomb. Remains of original shock absorber. Large size, 82cm overall. This helmet comes from Mennetou Salon, whose maquis was reinforced in September 1944 by French paratroopers from the 4th SAS Battalion. Mk II paratrooper helmet shell. Steel shell with stainless steel rim retaining attractive original factory khaki paint. Later white paint splashes visible externally and throughout the interior. Original shock absorber pad remnants still present. Large size with external circumference of 82 cm. This helmet originates from Mennetou-sur-Cher whose maquis was reinforced in September 1944 by French parachutists of the 4th SAS Battalion.
