Description
Navy commando camouflage blouse. Rare blouse specifically for marine commandos, made from camouflage fabric specially designed for this unit and featuring swamp motifs. It has two chest pockets that close with functional nickel-plated press studs, and two lower side pockets that close with the same press studs. Note that a male press stud is missing from the lower right pocket and the one above it is weakened. There are metal eyelets in the armpits, one eyelet is missing on the right side and two are weakened, all the eyelets are present on the left side. The lower sleeves have khaki wool knit fabric, a sewn-in tab is tightened with two male press studs, both are present but weakened on the right sleeve. The collar is lined in khaki wool with a few holes and snags, and closes with a functional Serval brand zip. Manufacturer's stamp on the lining, unfortunately illegible. Original sewn beaver tail with snaps (one male is weakened). On the back is the original small slanted pocket with its original snap. Bright colours, probably never worn. One of the rarest French uniform effects, less than 400 made, of which only about fifteen are known today. Length 76cm, Armpits 58cm, Shoulders 48cm, Sleeves 55cm. Camouflaged naval commando smock. Extremely rare smock specific to the naval commandos, produced in a camouflage fabric specially developed for this unit featuring swamp-pattern motifs. The garment has two chest pockets secured by functional nickel-plated snap fasteners and two lower side pockets fastened in the same manner. The lower right pocket is missing one male snap while the upper snap above it is weakened. Metal ventilation eyelets are fitted under the arms, with one missing and two weakened on the right side while all remain present on the left. Sleeve cuffs are fitted with khaki wool knit cuffs and adjustment tabs secured by two male snaps, both present but weakened on the right sleeve. Collar lined in khaki wool showing several holes and snags, closing with a functional Serval zipper. Manufacturer's stamp present on the lining though unfortunately illegible. Original stitched beaver tail retaining its snap fasteners with one weakened male snap. Rear-mounted oblique utility pocket still retains its original snap fastener. Colors remain exceptionally vivid and the garment was likely never worn. One of the rarest French uniform items ever produced, manufactured in fewer than 400 examples with only around fifteen known survivors today. Length 76 cm, pit-to-pit width 58 cm, shoulders 48 cm, sleeves 55 cm.
