Description
Bataillon de Corée beret. Beret specific to the Bataillon de Corée unit, made of black wool, two eyelets on the right side. Enamelled metal unit badge, made in two parts and marked Drago Paris, guilloche back and double Drago Paris bolero. Black cotton lining bearing the manufacturer's markings of Henri Veyrier in Bruyères in the Vosges and the Army reception stamp dated 1955. Size 60, ideal for a mannequin. After fighting in Korea and Indochina, the UN battalion left the Far East in July 1955 and embarked for Algeria. At the end of 1962, after independence, the unit moved to mainland France. It was disbanded at the Sissone camp. Korean Battalion beret. Beret specific to the French Battalion in Korea, made from black wool with two ventilation eyelets on the right side. Unit badge in enameled metal manufactured in two parts and marked Drago Paris on the reverse with engine-turned backing and double Drago Paris bolero fittings. Black cotton lining marked by manufacturer Henri Veyrier of Bruyères in the Vosges together with a French Army acceptance stamp dated 1955. Size 60, ideal for mannequin display. After serving in Korea and later in Indochina, the UN Battalion left the Far East in July 1955 and deployed to Algeria. Following Algerian independence in late 1962 the unit returned to mainland France and was eventually disbanded at Camp de Sissonne.
