Description
TAP 47.51 camouflage jump jacket. In 47.51 camouflage fabric, functional press studs, Vitex brand zips also functional and still with their original leather pull tabs, beavertail present and sewn in. All buttons are present and sewn in. Manufacturer's stamp Hubert de Vautier in Marseille and size stamp C2. The inside pocket is made from the same fabric and has a tab closure. The press studs are lined with a leather washer, with a small hook sewn inside to hold the beaver tail in place. This jacket belonged to Colonel Bernard Louis Blouin, who was posted to the BCRA in June 1944 following his training with the cadets of the Free French Army. He was appointed second lieutenant in 1945. After a spell in the Levant, he was posted to Indochina in 1947 with the shock parachutists and spent two periods in the Far East, notably in Tonkin, Laos and Thailand. He then served in Algeria with the same unit until 1960, where he was wounded twice and cited six times. A mint condition copy. Length 77cm, Armpits 63cm, Shoulders 52cm, Sleeves 53cm. Camouflaged TAP jump jacket model 47/51. Constructed in 47/51 camouflage fabric with fully functional snap fasteners and working Vitex zippers retaining their original leather pull tabs. Original stitched beaver tail present. Adjustment tabs at the cuffs remain intact, all buttons factory-sewn and present. Marked by manufacturer Hubert de Vautier of Marseille together with size stamp C2. Internal pocket made from matching camouflage fabric and retaining its closure tab. Snap fasteners reinforced with leather washers and fitted with a small internal hook intended to secure the beaver tail inside the jacket. This jacket belonged to Colonel Bernard Louis Blouin, assigned to the BCRA in June 1944 following his training with the Cadets of Free France and commissioned as second lieutenant in 1945.
