Description
Private Roux's memories and war record. Private Jean Roux was drafted into the 146th Infantry Battalion and took part in the Algerian War, from which he brought back a number of war souvenirs mentioned on one of his cards. His soldier's diary for 1951, his lozenges 45 of the 146th BI, a sheet of menu 10 of the type M ration dated 1956, and a sachet of desiccant. An index card written by Private Roux states that the parcel contains the items in this lot, including a deck of Arab cards, the Croix de Guerre 39 and Légion d'Honneur decorations that belonged to the fellagha leader in my region, Cherif Mammout, a former tirailleur lieutenant and later fellagha colonel, whose decorations were taken from his home before he fled to Tunisia.
