1618 - British "biscuit" model MCR1 radio receiver.

Description
British "biscuit" model MCR1 radio receiver. The set consists of the radio in its original blue/grey paintwork, with its original metal plate bearing the inscription MCR1, Serial N°29238, with its four buttons and the small dial indicating the frequencies. The set still has its power cable with its power socket. The radio is delivered with its four interchangeable "Range blocks" in the original blue/grey paint, each with its own metal plate and bearing the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Its rare wire aerial is coiled on a small special bakelite support, the wire is in its original length and still has its plugs. The original headset is also present, the markings are clearly legible and read Multitone Electric Co Ltd London. The wire is still covered by its fabric sheath and has its two plugs. The mains power supply is in factory blue-grey paint with its original metal plate marked power pack 36/1 AC/DC 97-250 volts. The original adjustment sockets are fixed under the small removable cover held in place by a screw. A spare 7.5 volt type B battery is still in its original box, dated 5 June 1944, but unfortunately shows signs of oxidation. The set is housed in a metal biscuit tin, stamped H&P V on the lid. British MCR1 Receiver Radio Set commonly known as the Biscuit. The set consists of the receiver in its original blue-grey finish with its original metal identification plate marked MCR1, Serial No. 29238, retaining its four control knobs as well as the small frequency dial. The receiver still retains its power cable with original plug. The set is supplied with its four interchangeable Range blocks in original blue-grey paint, each fitted with its respective metal identification plate marked 1, 2, 3 and 4. Its rare wire antenna remains wound on its distinctive bakelite support, the wire retaining its original length together with its original connectors. The original headphone set is also present with clear markings reading Multitone Electric Co Ltd London. The cable still retains its original cloth covering and both plugs. The AC/DC power supply unit remains in its original factory blue-grey finish with its original metal identification plate marked Power Pack 36/1 AC/DC 97-250 Volts. The original adjustment plugs are secured beneath the small removable cover retained by a screw. A spare 7.5-volt Type B battery is still preserved in its original cardboard packaging dated 5 June 1944. The battery unfortunately shows several traces of oxidation. The entire set is housed in a metal tin of biscuit-box type embossed H&P V on the lid.
