Bronze Spanien Kreuz diploma. In cardboard. Beautiful embossed eagle. Diploma awarded to Feldwebel Wilhelm Becker Geschwader Horst Wessel, 3 March 1939. Autopen signature of the German Chancellor and Meissner. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. The 26 Horst Wessel Destruction Wing was a Luftwaffe unit within the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. Mainly equipped with twin-engined Messerschmitt Bf 110 fighters and their successors, this formation, classified as a heavy fighter, was responsible for escorting bomber groups and air combat operations. The unit took part in numerous theatres of operations, including the Western Campaign, the Battle of Britain, the Balkan Campaign, air operations in Crete, the German-Soviet War and the African Campaign.
