SS Dagger model 1933 Jacobs. Along with Klittermann & Moog, this is the second manufacturer to have produced a dagger with the blade motto followed by an exclamation mark, of the two it is certainly the better known. The fuse has no noticeable dents or signs of tampering and the fittings are nickel silver, which is consistent with early manufacture. A particular characteristic of these two makers is the frequent absence of the Roman numeral of one of the SS control and distribution centres. The blade shows only a few spots near the maker's mark, which in no way detracts from the overall quality of this dagger. The calligraphy of the motto has its own distinctive features that distinguish it from the engraving of its competitor Klittermann & Moog (See page 40 of the reference work L'ordre noir, Armes blanches, traditions et symbolique published by Heimdal - 2023. The scabbard is covered in its black tan, with minimal spots of oxidation visible on both sides. One of the most coveted daggers among collectors of Third Reich daggers.
