Description
Document signed by the Chief of the German Police. Typed letter from the Reichsführer SS und Chef Der Deutschen Polizei, dated 20 July 1937. The letter is translated as follows. Dear Daluege, following our meeting yesterday and in reply to your letter of 30 June, I wish to inform you of the following. Before Malsen Ponickau takes over as chairman of the Gleiwitz police, I would ask you to temporarily send Matern to another police presidium for training. I am well aware that during this period he will naturally not be able to receive any allowances. I'm thinking, for example, of a training period in Essen near Zech. As for the other arrangement, i.e. to send Patschky after his training at Gleiwitz to Bremen and, once Malsen Ponickau has settled permanently at Gleiwitz, to assign him there permanently, I agree. As I found out yesterday, Schweinle has already been to Nuremberg once and got on very badly with Martin there. Please consider whether we can't reassign Schweinle to another post until such time as he becomes chairman of the Stuttgart police force. Autograph signature of the chief of police and numerous annotations in pen. A few tears at the edges, at the level of the perforations. Some wear and patina. Condition II+.
