A fine set belonging to a Second Lieutenant (Medical): a kepi, 1886 model, in madder-red cloth, with a crimson velvet band, silver braid, a false chin strap and gilded buttons, a round visor and a patent leather chin strap; the inner lining features a band of hot-stamped gold-coloured leather and black silk; dolman, 1883 model, in black wool, with four pockets, seven black brandebourgs and flat braids, crimson velvet collar and facings, embroidered collar tabs and silver braid, gold buttons, black canvas lining; trousers in madder-red cloth, with a black band, two thigh pockets and a martingale, lined in cream striped canvas. With 3 false collars and 5 pairs of shirt cuffs. Made by V. Harrissard, 38 Bould Henri IV, Paris. BE (a few small moth-eaten patches and 2 moth holes, foxing on the cuffs).
