Description
Canadian 4th Battalion cartridge belt and bayonet holder. Oliver pattern 1916 cartridge belt made by Todds of Markham Ontario in 1916. Name and serial number under the flap in the name of D.F. Roy 911417 corresponding to Douglas Forrester Roy, enlisted in the 196th Battalion, then posted to the 46th and finally to the 4th Battalion, Light Machine Gun Company, several times wounded. A fine brown leather bayonet holder, strap well marked with an Ottawa maker, dated 1915. Wear from use, patina. Canadian 4th Battalion ammunition pouch and bayonet frog. Oliver Pattern 1916 ammunition pouch by maker Todds of Markham Ontario dated 1916. Name and service number beneath the flap to D.F. Roy 911417, identified as Douglas Forrester Roy, enlisted in the 196th Battalion then transferred to the 46th and finally to the 4th Battalion, Light Machine Gun Company, wounded several times. Fine brown leather bayonet frog with strap clearly marked by an Ottawa maker and dated 1915. Service wear and patina.
