Canadian 4th Battalion cartridge belt and bayonet holder. Oliver pattern 1916 cartridge belt made by Todds of Markham Ontario in 1916. Name and serial number under the flap in the name of D.F. Roy 911417 corresponding to Douglas Forrester Roy, enlisted in the 196th Battalion, then posted to the 46th and finally to the 4th Battalion, Light Machine Gun Company, several times wounded. A fine brown leather bayonet holder, strap well marked with an Ottawa maker, dated 1915. Wear from use, patina. Canadian 4th Battalion ammunition pouch and bayonet frog.
