Luftwaffe helmet. M-40 helmet shell. Made by EF 66. Lot number 503. Leather helmet shell incomplete and badly damaged with numerous chips. Chinstrap missing. Camouflage net fastening system present at the front and rear of the shell. These are fixed directly to the strapping. 60% paintwork. Second type Luftwaffe eagle at 80%. Camouflage netting present and held to the hull by the two hooks fixed to the strapping. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. Luftwaffe helmet. M40 shell manufactured by EF66, lot number 503. Incomplete leather liner, heavily damaged with numerous losses. Chinstrap absent. Remains of field-applied camouflage paint visible on the front and rear of the shell. Two straps directly attached to the liner band. Exterior paint remaining at approximately 60 percent. Second pattern Luftwaffe eagle retaining approximately 80 percent of its finish. Camouflage net present and secured to the helmet by two hooks fixed to the liner band. Showing honest wear and patina. Condition II+.
