Description
Luftwaffe Ehrenpokal. In silver plated metal. Manufacture Feinsilber Alpaka Auflage Wagner & Sohn. Very beautiful decoration with the eagle melting on its prey. Stylized iron cross 1939. Indication Unteroffizier Harry Wulf on December 21, 1942. Height 21 cm. Harry Wulf was a pilot in II/Kampf-Geschwader 100 and was awarded the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on 25 November 1943. The Kampfgeschwader 100 was a Luftwaffe unit. Because of its emblem, it was also known as the Viking Wing. It was a bomber wing, equipped successively with Heinkel He 111s, Dornier Do 217s and finally Heinkel He 177s. Groups II and III specialised in anti-ship warfare on the high seas, sinking ships from the English Channel to the Mediterranean and from the North Sea to the Black Sea. The squadron took part in the Norwegian campaign, the Battle of Britain and the German-Soviet War. From 1942, it fought against the Western Allies in the Mediterranean and the United Kingdom.
