Numerous enlistments, including one with the 10 Kampfgeschwader 76 6 Staffel in 1941. Awarded the bronze Fontflugspange on 11 August 1941, the silver Frontflugspange on 6 September 1941, the iron cross second class on 28 July 1941, the iron cross first class on 7 September 1941, the gold Frontflugspange on 27 March 1942, and the Eastern Front medal on 1 August 1942.
