A superb double-barrelled percussion pistol, round, rifled barrels in 30-ball-per-pound calibre, bearing the hallmarks of the Liège Proof House and inscribed in fine Gothic script with the marking ‘FNI LEPAGE-MOUTIER Arquebusier du Roi’, an iron band secured by two screw channels on the left-hand side of the barrel band, the rear lock plate engraved with foliage scrolls and volutes, round trigger guard, single-shot non-selective trigger, barrel marked 2 (one of a pair), fine banana-shaped stock in selected walnut, varnished and checkered at the grip (medium-fine checkering), smooth, solid-wood crown bordered by a groove highlighted by two grooves, fitted with grey-tempered fittings, barrel polished to a white finish, left-hand walnut square screw replaced, mechanism in working order.
