Description
Antique Restoration clock
in chiselled and gilded bronze, depicting an allegory of water and air. Amphitrite, seated on a shell – with the dial at its centre – holds, in one hand, her sail billowing in the wind, and in the other the reins of two tritons. The quadrangular base is decorated with a rudder, Poseidon’s trident, an anchor, a laurel branch, a caduceus and a cornucopia, held together by a ribbon bow. The feet are decorated with putti.
