Jean-Baptiste Ferdinand MULNIER, the elder (Nancy, 1757 – Nancy, 1836?). A man in a black suit, with short hair, depicted in a bust view facing to the right; a companion piece to a woman in a black dress, depicted from the waist up facing to the left; both set against a blue background, First Empire period. A pair of miniatures on ivory, signed on the left: Mulnier; outer dimensions: H 6.2 cm and H 6.1 cm. Later varnished wooden frames with gilded brass visors, measuring H 14.3 cm and H 14.5 cm respectively. Weight: 200 g each. Expert: N. Lemoine-Bouchard. A CITES certificate will be issued to the purchaser of this pair of miniatures, permitting their movement only within the European Union.
