French school, circa 1815–1820. A young girl in a white dress and blue necklace, her hair tied in a bun, depicted in a three-quarter view to the right against a landscape. Miniature on ivory. Visible diameter: 6.3 cm. Rectangular varnished wooden frame with a gilded brass visor, H. 12 cm. Weight: 80 g. Artist’s joint visible on the left to form the curve.
