PERNOT François Alexandre (1793–1865), attributed to, The Moats of Vincennes and the Tomb of the Duke of Enghien, brown wash with gouache highlights on paper, unsigned, 16.5 × 12.5 cm. This work is similar to two works by François-Alexandre Pernot depicting a view of the Vincennes Moats in 1815, an engraving produced in 1819 and an oil painting on canvas exhibited in 1822 at the Salon and now held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Angers.See the identical painting signed ‘F. Pernot 1822’ and entitled *Les fossés de Vincennes*, Angers Museum.
