19th-century FRENCH SCHOOL. Portrait of Pauline de Castellane. Miniature in gouache and watercolour, set in an oval wooden frame with gilded stucco. 21.5 x 20 cm. Some signs of wear.
Historical inscriptions on the reverse: “Portrait of Mademoiselle Pauline de Castellane, by Count Boni de Castellane, 12 June 1826 – Pauline was the daughter of Marshal de Castellane, who was first married to Count Max de Sagan, who bequeathed this portrait to his daughter, the Countess Welzeck, who in turn bequeathed it to the Countess Jean de Castellane.
