A pair of ormolu vases finely chased with stylised friezes, the round, flattened body, the high neck flanked by two tiger figures with foliate scrolls, resting on a four-legged base with openwork gadroons. France, second half of the 19th century. (Deformations) H. 22 cm Closely related to the work of Claude-Aimé Chenavard (1798-1838), a vase in the same style is in the Musée des Arts décoratifs under inventory number 2009.5.1
