A rosewood veneered flat desk opening with three drawers in the waist and standing on four curved legs. The top is curved and covered in brown morocco embossed with a gilt small-iron frieze. Ornamented with gilded bronzes such as leafy falls and clasps, lock escutcheons, mouldings, spandrels, hooves and pairs of harvesters in rocaille cartouches. Louis XV period. H. 77.5 cm - W. 176 cm - D. 93 cm (Old restorations, wear to the gilding, missing veneer, wear to the morocco) Provenance: Michel-Frédéric, Count Pillet-Will (1781-1860), co-founder of the Caisse d'Epargne de Paris and Regent of the Banque de France from 1828 to 1860.
