ROYAL PRAYER from the chapel of the Palais-Royal.
Made of wood varnished to imitate natural wood. Flat backrest with an openwork X motif and a locker. Resting on double baluster front legs and sabre back legs.
Iron mark PALAIS ROYAL, stamp IACOB and iron mark LP under closed crown.
First third of the 19th century.

The IACOB mark was used by François-Honoré Jacob-Desmalter from 1813 to 1825.
The LP mark under a closed crown was used on royal furniture from 1830 to 1848, the period corresponding to the reign of Louis-Philippe.
The Palais-Royal was the Parisian residence of the Orléans family from 1692 until the end of the July Monarchy.
