Description
Rectangular music box in bronze, gilded brass and twisted glass on a wooden core in the shape of a pavilion representing a fountain. The Corinthian column uprights frame two obelisks adorned with dolphins spitting water into a central niche. It is underlined with scallops and topped with a balustrade of lyres flanked by trophies. The sides and back of the mantel open to reveal four openwork panels with Anglo-Chinese motifs. They reveal a mechanism of miniature cylinders and organ pipes. Resting on a blackened base with disc feet.
Signed on the back on a LeRoi & Fils plate.
