Description
Mappemonde by Nicolas BAILLEUX, drawn up according to the observations of the Royal Academy of Sciences, dedicated to Messire Camille Perrichon, his arms represented in a cartouche at the top centre of the map, published by Daudet in Lyon in 1752.
It depicts the western and eastern hemispheres and is framed on either side by descriptions of the world. The lower part describes the countries, capitals, locations, islands and rulers of the different parts of the world, while four corner cartouches describe the climatic zones.
