A porcelain box, curved upwards, with a slightly domed top decorated with figures by the banks of a river, boats and a town in the background. The sides are decorated with landscapes featuring figures, whilst the underside depicts a hunter by a river. Inside, the lid is painted with a scene of a gentleman courting a young woman in a rural landscape.
Guilloché silver mount, illegible maker’s mark, hallmark for small items from Paris 1750–1756.
Dated 18th century.
