Rectangular view carpet in polychrome wool in knotted stitch decorated with grecques, stylised foliage and abstract motifs on a brown and black background. Manufacture's monogram in the weft.

History: A similar model was commissioned in 1924 by Jules Leleu (1883-1961) from Ivan Da Silva Bruhns for the Paris residence of Gonzalo Zaldumbide (1884-1965), Ecuador's ambassador to France, and his wife Isabel Rosales, a pianist (Christie's sale, New York, 9 December 2022, lot no. 335).
