The young Krishna is depicted crawling with a ball of butter in his hand, an ingredient he is very fond of, and for which he gets into the most incredible situations. Krishna's adventures as a child are recounted in ancient foundational texts such as the Harivaṃśa and the Bhâgavata-purâna.
