A LARGE TIN SUGAR CASTER, LYON, BETWEEN 1743 AND 1748
23,30 CM - 9,2 IN.
One of the finest French models in perfect condition and very large. No control mark between the years 1743 and 1748 has yet been found in Lyon. It is very common to find that Louis XIV's edict of 1691 establishing these controls, which had to be updated every year, was not strictly respected. Here, however, the existence of the 1748 edict means that the date can be narrowed down.
