SAUPOUDREUSE, LYON, BETWEEN 1691 and 1694
A pewter baluster with a gadrooned pedestal and a lid pierced with rosettes enhanced with engraved lines. Hallmark: crowned FF / LYON / 1691. Rare hallmark of Pierre VERNAY received master around 1693: FIN / P.V / dauphin.

According to the royal edict of 1691, the control mark should in principle have been updated with each vintage, but in fact this regulation was not complied with perfectly. There are no known controls in Lyon for the years 1692 and 1693.
