Description
DURTAL, 18th CENTURY Deceptive jug in beige glazed earthenware with brown speckled glaze. Baluster-shaped, its neck is fitted with apertures preventing its usual use; the nipple is connected at throat level to a hollow coil and the handle, also hollow, communicates with the base of the body allowing the contents to be consumed. It is engraved with the words: "Fait par moi François Laillet à Saint Pierre de Durtal le 15 7bre 1765". This date is repeated on the outer base. (Chips) A DURTAL 18TH CENTURY PUZZLE-JUG 14,60 CM - 5,7 IN. Extremely rare piece, possibly unique.
