Related items Artcurial sale, 9 November 2021, lot 144 This equestrian statuette depicting Charles VII victorious on a richly harnessed mount is one of two variants created by Barye around 1840. It depicts Charles VII, King of France, who was crowned in Reims in 1429 thanks to Joan of Arc. This work is typical of the romantic statuette that was very popular in the 1840s.
