GADROONED BOWL, LIMOGES, CIRCA 1700
Hexagonal base with six gadroons, decorated in grisaille with a nymph playing a wind instrument in front of a faun in term, the gadroons decorated on the inside with multicoloured floral and bird motifs on a white background and on the reverse with foliage and flowers in gold highlights and multicoloured spangles on a faux black background.
Retouching to the gilding with an apocryphal monogram PR on the obverse and an apocryphal figure of Catherine de Médicis on the reverse.
