A SPECIMEN (TOOTH) OF LAMNIFORM SQUALIDAE A specimen (tooth) of lamniform Squalidae of the species known as Carcharodon megalodon or synonymously Otodus megalodon considered to be the largest Squalidae predator to have lived in pelagic environments; specimen embedded in a mineral gangue; beautiful patina and external colouration of the tooth. Dated on the geological time scale (fossiliferous) probably Miocene-5 million years ago. Specimen presented on a wooden base This fossil specimen is not subject to regulation under the Washington Convention (CITES), European Community Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996, or the French Environment Code. A MEGALODON TOOTH 14.80 CM - 5.8 IN. H. 15 CM - 5.90 IN. Width at the base of the tooth: 10 CM - 3.93 IN.
