CHINESE LACQUER AND STEATITE ENCRIBER, MADE BY BOIN-TABURET, PARIS, LATE 19th CENTURY
The oval silver-plated metal tray with a gadrooned edge holds a Chinese lacquer plaque decorated with dignitaries in a lakeside landscape. It supports a soapstone bowl, carved in high relief on the body with a monkey in trees. The lid is adorned with a lotus blossom knob and surrounded by a frieze of gadroons, revealing a gilded metal bowl.
Signed BOIN-TABURET/A PARIS and numbered 78878 on the underside.
