A low chair with a medallion-shaped backrest in capucine-coloured lacquered wood, moulded and carved with ribbon friezes on the backrest, topped by a crown of acanthus leaves. The seat is moulded with a frieze of pilasters joined by connecting blocks and a sunflower motif. It rests on tapered, fluted legs. Stamped ‘L.DELANOIS’ (1731–1792) on the front crossbar. Louis XVI period 93x46x43 A pair of matching chairs is included. The rosette is a daisy and rests on tapered, serrated legs. Late 18th century – early 19th century (reinforcement beneath the seats of the rear legs; chips to the lacquer). (PS)
