Description
HUSSARD'S SABRE MODEL 1777 DIT 1786, for the troop, the brass mounting, the guard with a branch known as "German" punched and engraved "Bourgeois" and "VERSAILLES", the cap with long tail, the handle out of wooden encordée covered with basane, the right quillon finished by a ball and centered of a cruising in almond, the curved blade with only one edge and with hollow sides punched "AP" for the workshops of Paris; The leather-covered wooden scabbard with two brass fittings and two clasps. Late 18th century, probably revolutionary manufacture. Blade length: 87 cm. Wear, accidents and restorations to the scabbard, pitted blade.
