HEAVY CAVALRY SABRE MODEL 1784, known as 'Arco', brass-mounted, three-pronged hilt with four finials and decorated with a lictor's bundle with Phrygian cap, short-tailed cap, wooden handle covered with twisted filigree basane, punched single-edged blade with gutter, punched 'V' probably for the Versailles manufacture; the leather scabbard with three brass fittings adorned with two bélières.
Late 18th century, revolutionary period.
