Description
Monumental cupboard in solid walnut, moulded and carved, of a curved shape with flared sides, opening to four leaves with contoured panelling in three parts, the part of the door decorated with a coat of arms decorated with stylised foliage scrolls, clasps and flowers, The projecting cornice rests on rounded jambs adorned with three-star cartouches, resting on curved scrolled legs joined by three leafy aprons with flower baskets. Very fine polished steel and lacquered brass locksmithery with openwork motifs, with the handwritten signature in ink on the reverse of the apron indicating the location of a workshop in Libourne. Libourne, Louis XV period. H: 340 cm, D: 75 cm Provenance : Sale Paris, Palais d'Orsay, Loudmer and Poulain study, 1 December 1977, lot 102.
