Description
A clock featuring Athena’s chariot, with a skeleton movement, crafted from chiselled bronze with a matt gilded and burnished finish, depicting Athena on her chariot alongside her shield bearing the Gorgon’s head, drawn by two horses. The quadrangular base is decorated with a bas-relief depicting the story of Athena, framed by trophies and accented by a frieze of palmettes, and rests on four flattened ball feet. The white enamelled ring dial with black Roman numerals, signed ‘Gaston Jolly Fils A Paris’, is set within the wheel of the chariot.
